Are You Paying Hidden Fees?

Every time you trade on Hyperliquid through a third-party wallet like Phantom, MetaMask, or Rabby, you're being charged an extra builder fee — on top of the exchange's base fees (0.045% taker / 0.015% maker at VIP 0). Most traders don't even notice it.

Builder fees range from 0% to 0.10%. That might sound small, but at $1M in monthly volume, 0.10% means $1,000 extra going straight to the wallet provider — not to Hyperliquid, not to you.

The good news: some wallets charge nothing. OneKey and other zero-fee wallets have a 0% builder fee. HypeFees helps you see exactly what you're paying — and switch to save.

How It Works

Wallets register as "builders" on Hyperliquid and set a fee rate. Every order you place through that wallet automatically includes the builder fee. The maximum allowed is 0.10% (10 basis points) on perpetual contracts.

Base Exchange Fees by VIP Tier

Tier14-Day VolumeTakerMaker
VIP 0< $5M0.045%0.015%
VIP 1$5M–$25M0.040%0.012%
VIP 2$25M–$100M0.035%0.008%

VIP 5$2B–$7B0.026%0.000%
VIP 6> $7B0.024%0.000%

Your effective rate = base fee + builder fee. A VIP 0 taker with a 0.05% builder pays 0.095% total. With a 0% builder, you pay only 0.045% — that's 53% less.
